MARA LITe Download |
Most users will be unable to download the entire CD in one go; it is provided for downloading in sections.
All files have been compressed in self-extracting zip archives.
Archives that are bigger than 1MB are provided again in smaller parts on a separate page (click here).
All patches have been incorporated.
The current version is 3.2
All files have been screened for viruses.
What you need to know:
The MARA LITe CD has three main modules (see MARA LITe information for details):
1. Prevalence data
2. Population data
3. Maps
The data required for modules 1. and 2. are included in the Software & Database download file.
Additional files required for the Maps module (3.) have to be downloaded separately by theme and region.
MapInfo ProViewer has to be installed to display and print the maps.

Instructions for installing software
1. Download MaraLITe32Setup.exe to your hard drive.
2. Run the executable to install.
By default the MARA LITe installs to C:\MARALITe\. Additional sub-directories are created, ready for the maps, malaria models and other resources, should you download these.
NOTE: MARA LITe requires the Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) which are normally installed with MSOffice or any database applications. If MARA LITe does not function properly, MDAC may be missing on your machine. Please download MDAC to your hard drive and install.
Download map files
1. Download continental base data.
2. Download a theme (maps are provided at continental level).
3. (optional) To display thematic maps at country level, download additional country information.
4. (optional) Download additional information required for topographic maps.
Maps should be extracted to the \MARALITe\Maps directory.

The binary image data (.rst) proceeds row-by-row, from top-left to bottom-right, in a single continuous column.
All required image information is provided in the documentation file (.rdc).
Information on the geographic projection is found in ReferenceSystem.txt.
